Next to the City Park

Most of district 14 is green, including Városliget, the second-largest public park in Budapest. It is also crossed by the continent's first underground railway, the M1 metro line. The Heroes' Square, the Széchényi Baths, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Hall, the Vajdahunyad Castle and, not least, the Zoo are attractive places for tourists. The ice rink turns into a boating lake for summer.

Stefánia Street and Tököli Street give place to embassies of many countries in the Istvánmező district. For sports and culture lovers, the proximity of Puskás Ferenc Stadium and the Papp László Sports Arena, as well as the BOK Hall (formerly SYMA Hall), which is also the venue for sporting events, concerts and exhibitions, can be attractive. Residents in the area can shop in the Récsei Center, but the Arena Plaza is not far away, where there is a cinema for those who want to enjoy a good movie.

In Zugló the Örs Vezér square gives home to several bus lines, the M2 metro station and the H8 and H9 suburban railway train stations. The Árkád and Sugar Shopping Center and Cinema, as well as IKEA, are waiting for all passersby wanting to shop or relax. When it comes to public transportation, tram number 1 and bus number 7 are also important - both of them take you to Buda side. The intersection of the M3-a motorway may be important for people working in agglomeration or rural areas.

Within the district, there are numerous universities, including the Faculty of Humanities of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church, the Ybl Miklós Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of Szent István University, the Metropolitan University of Budapest and the Faculty of Finance and Accountancy of Budapest Business School.
