Budapest Housing Market is Still Rising?

By the third quarter of 2017, 93 thousand homes were sold, which is significantly less than the data for the same period of the previous year. From this, it can be concluded that the desire to buy has fallen, which, however, is not in balance with the intense activity of the supply market. What is the expectation of the Budapest housing market?
The supply side is constantly expanding, supported by more figures. In 2017 more than 20 percent more construction permits were issued than a year earlier, and new homes completed 43 percent higher than in the previous year.
According to the Budapest Housing Market Report database at the end of 2017 occupancy rate for new homes was on average 60 percent, but there were also districts where 70 percent of new homes were sold.
Regarding the number of licenses issued, there was a significant increase from 2016 to 2017: more than 14,000 homes were licensed, while a year earlier the number of licenses issued was 10,000. This is a significant increase over a year. According to experts, growth will be even greater in 2018, as tens of thousands of new homes will be built.
