Development: The Western Gate of Budapest

The peculiarity of our century is that instead of creating new cities, we expand the existing ones. The surrounding settlements are slowly becoming part of it, so transport networks are constantly changing to suit their needs. In Kelenföld, we can witness the creation of a new city center, where the country's largest intermodal hub is created.
In Europe, the western gate of Budapest is becoming an exemplary hub. The part of the public transport to the western part of Hungary, Kelenföld-Őrmező and Sasad, is also called the "western gate" of the capital.
The M4 metro was already a significant change for Kelenföld, but that was not all. The reorganization and renovation of the M1-M7 Balaton road, the construction of office buildings, shopping centers and the final station of the Etele square are taking place simultaneously. The goal is to create a unique intermodal node in Central Europe.
This new center will be only 10 minutes from Budaörs, Törökbálint and Diósd, 15 minutes from Biatorbágy, 20 minutes from Herceghalom, 25 minutes from Érd and Bicske, and 30 minutes from Velence, Martonvásár and Tatabánya. As a result, this change will be visible to people in the near future, and different areas will be connected to the capital, even if until now that was not an option.
Although the plans and developments are constantly evolving, there are still a few more things to do, for example the bus terminal at Etele Square. There is no specific plan for the building of the old railway station. The construction of the smart mall is also underway in this location, as well as the development of the Budapest One office building.
