District 12

The district is home to many embassies, bilingual and nationality schools and kindergartens. MOM Park, the Hegyvidék and the Budagyöngye shopping centre provide shopping and recreation, and also Mammut on Széll Kálmán Square is also just a few minutes away. The Budapest Convention Center can also be found here. For students, the area may be popular because of several institutions at the University of Physical Education, ELTE Teaching and Kindergarten Faculty and Semmelweis University (SOTE).

From Széchenyi Hill the children's railway starts, which goes towards Hűvösvölgy with several popular hiking places and hiking trails. The Normafa, with its meadows for picnics, playgrounds and slopes for winter sports is a favourite of families every season. János Hill is popular not only for its Elizabeth Lookout Tower but also for the Zugliget Chair Lift. With a small detour, you can easily reach the Budakeszi Wildlife Park. Those looking for green space in the inner parts of the district are welcomed by the parks of the Városmajor and the Vérmező.

The city centre can be reached by the M2 metro line from Széll Kálmán tér in a few minutes, and from the Southern Railway Station, there are many suburban trains to the agglomeration and other transport methods to more distant destinations.
